🏳️‍🌈 Home Care × Home Body Free class

Release your
neck tension.

Neck tension isn't just physical — it's your nervous system holding on. This free 15-minute class combines self-massage and somatic movement to help you release that grip, drop into your body, and find some calm. No mat, no studio, no performance required.

Part of home care × home body

What's inside
the 15 minutes.

Three parts, one flow. You don't need to do anything to prepare — just find somewhere comfortable and press play.

🤲
Part one

Self-massage

Guided hands-on work for the neck, base of skull, and shoulders. No experience needed — Kars walks you through exactly where to place your hands and how much pressure to use. Your nervous system starts to receive the message that it's safe to let go.

🌊
Part two

Somatic movement

Slow, exploratory movement that follows sensation rather than choreography. Not stretching. Not yoga. A conversation between you and your body — noticing what's held, and gently inviting release through the neck and upper body.

🌙
Part three

Guided rest

A short guided rest to let the nervous system integrate what just happened. This is the part most people skip in mainstream classes — and the part that makes everything else land. You'll finish feeling genuinely different, not just temporarily looser.

Mins 1–5

Why neuro-somatic — and why it works differently

Most approaches to neck tension treat the muscle as the problem. Neuro-somatic work treats the nervous system as the starting point — because tension is often your body's protective response to stress, not just a physical knot to unknot.

By working with the body's sensory signals and movement patterns, neuro-somatic practices help the nervous system update its sense of safety — which creates release that lasts longer than a massage alone, and builds over time with practice.

🥄 Spoon rating: Low

This class was designed for the days when you don't have much to give. You can do the whole thing lying on your back or sitting up in bed. There's no standing, no core engagement, no moment where you need to push through. If you need to pause or skip a section, that's always the right call.

Kars is a massage therapist, yoga teacher, and neuro-somatic yoga practitioner based in London and Brighton. Trans, queer, and neurodivergent themselves — they built home care × home body because the space they needed didn't exist yet.

This class is a taster of what's inside the membership launching in August — a growing community of queer and disabled folks tending their bodies together.
